How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.
| Component | Positive | Quality (0-100) | Weight (pseudo-reviews) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Press reviews (OpenCritic) | – | 78 | 52 |
| All-time Steam reviews | 68% | 66 | 635 |
| Metacritic user ratings | – | – | 0 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 75% | 70 | 6 |
| Calibration prior (typical game) | – | 72 | 50 |

“Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium is, in some ways, superior to the first collection. The game selection has become even more interesting, and the emulation has been slightly improved, demonstrating that the company is listening to fan feedback. However, the same structural problems persist: the bland presentation and the lack of extra materials reveal a product that feels made with minimal effort. Again: it's a valid and accessible experience to experience nostalgic titles, but it lacked more love.”

“As long as you're okay with its unreasonable lack of online functionality and screen filter niggles, there are hundreds of hours of fun to be had with Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium. 32 mostly excellent games and another historically notable preservation piece, it recalls the essence of what an arcade felt like. Achieving that feeling, however brief, will be enough to justify a purchase for those with an affinity for gaming's rich history.”

“Not a bad successor to the previous title, Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium delivers yet another batch of renowned classic arcade games. It delivers perfect emulation and a number of modern-day improvements. Maybe a couple of fighting games could have been left out in favour of something different, but there is no doubt anyone can find at least a few games up their alley in this collection. ”

“With 30+ games, an embarrassment of customization options, and plenty of opportunities to play casually with local friends or seriously for online high scores, it's a rock solid collection both for arcade enthusiasts and old-school players.”

“With Capcom Arcade Stadium 2nd, I had a lot of fun. I recommend you to download the basic game and discover the virtual arcade, because it's gorgeous! And you will definitely find something to suit your taste. The first one is still available for download too.”

“The crossover between Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium and last month's Capcom Fighting Collection is bizarre, but there's more than enough additional content in this compilation to justify a double-dip. While we wish the publisher would have integrated more social features to make the pursuit of high scores more fulfilling, the reality is that retro game enthusiasts will want to revisit much of what this package has to offer.”

“The list of games is inferior to that of Capcom Arcade Stadium, and it is not unreasonable to wonder why the 2nd is needed, since everything could fit in the first.”

“Filled with great games, and there's a lot to love. But a third of them are in the other collections. You also still can't pick a game from a simple menu, which I simply can't understand.”

“Capcom continues to treat their legacy games better than most companies, but their delivery method can be questionable at times. Still I had a blast with these games and would definitely love to see how weird it gets with a third outing. Fans of classic Capcom games will find plenty to enjoy, but this is by far the least impressive selection of games, especially considering recent releases.”
