How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.
| Component | Positive | Quality (0-100) | Weight (pseudo-reviews) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Press reviews (OpenCritic) | – | 80 | 9 |
| All-time Steam reviews | 75% | 71 | 523 |
| Metacritic user ratings | – | 84 | 2 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 100% | 97 | 0 |
| Calibration prior (typical game) | – | 72 | 50 |

“This is also one of the most fiendish titles on Wii U, constantly challenging your reactions and puzzle-solving abilities. If you're up for the challenge, then this is a must-buy on the eShop.”

“Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones is not only one of the best stealth games ever made, it is up there with the best platformers. Everything good from the original game has been improved upon and polished while its flaws have been fixed. Stealth Inc 2 is what other developers should look at when developing a sequel: it is one that makes the previous game obsolete. Curve Digital has developed a near perfect game that should be experienced by all gamers.”

“If you're the type of person that likes to brag on Twitter about how many times Bloodborne has kicked your backside, then Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones may just be the challenge that you're looking for. Others should pause before purchasing, as your patience threshold will determine just how much enjoyment you get out of this sneaky sequel.”

“The main game is still undeniably fun, and anyone who enjoyed the first (or likes a good challenge) should check it out. Just be warned, it's an occasionally bumpy ride.”

“Stealth Inc. 2 falls short of the games I'd consider its peers, never quite capturing the simple ingenuity of Toki Tori 2, the nervy thrills of Mark of the Ninja, nor the physical comedic energy of 'Splosion Man. It's just too demanding and too laborious too often.”

“Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones is a sequel that goes beyond the original and understands that a puzzle game needs to be more than just a collection of levels that have to be finished. Its varied mechanics and a (decorative but inspired) storyline make this a worthy title in the Wii U’s catalogue, for both fans of puzzle games and curious minds alike.”

“Thankfully Stealth Inc 2 is a game which never outstays its welcome, providing a frenetic puzzle platformer which entertains from beginning to end. If you're a high-score junkie you'll like get even more mileage out of this, each of the game's 60 Test Chambers provide you with extensive rankings breakdowns and fastest times, something which requires a little too much patience for these now-weary hands.”

“Stealth Inc. 2 is a fantastic addition to the growing indie support the Wii U is getting. Curve Studios did a wonderful job of showing just how much thought and care they put into their game, and it really is an indie game you should pick up the next time you are browsing the Eshop.”
