How this trust score was computed

Trust blends alignment (40%): does the outlet rank games the way players do; decoded accuracy (30%): after translating the outlet's own scale habits (a '7/10 means mediocre' scale is decoded, not punished), how well its reviews predict player sentiment; and player-side (30%): on games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, whose side it took. Recent reviews weigh more (2-year half-life), and the blend is shrunk toward a neutral prior (60) so small samples can't peg the scale. Player quality is launch-window Steam sentiment, so outlets aren't punished for reviewing a launch build that later got patched.

    The PrecinctMay 13, 2025 · Marcello Brancaccio

The Precinct is a game with many good ideas and a solid structure, effectively capturing the appeal (and tension) of being a police officer. The freedom of action, the variety of assignments, the crime management system, and the noir atmosphere are all well-executed and enjoyable elements. However, some limiting choices—such as the inability to explore alternative moral decisions, the lack of real career progression, and the shallow depth of certain environments and situations—prevent the game from making the definitive leap in quality.

    Commandos: OriginsMay 8, 2025 · Marcello Brancaccio

A weak compromise that chooses the way of simplifying rather than streamline. The narrative is gripping and some missions still have some tactical value, but the technical and gameplay flaws are too big to be ignored.

Perfection is not of this world, and even Final Fantasy XVI is not without blemishes. They however vanish in front of the excellent narrative, epic world, and technical marvels.

You might ask if cuteness is compatible with RPGs, and the answer is definitely yes. Between wonderful panoramas and furious brawls, we will be amazed in a way that we believed was possible only when we were children.
