How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“Dishonored: Death of the Outsider faced a difficult task, to tie loose ends, and bring the Kaldwin era of the franchise to an end. Unfortunately, this high-profile target slipped away from it, but this standalone expansion is a good Dishonored experience nonetheless. Although a little shorter and shallower than you might expect.”

“With this expansion Arkane Studios matched the quality level of the regular installments of the Dishonored series (and that really is something!). All fans of Dishonored 1 & 2 simply have to experience Death of the Outsider. Everyone else should do the same but only after finishing the previous games. It's worth it!”

“A fitting end to a plot line some consider the best in the universe so far. I’m excited to see what comes next for the franchise, I can only see it either getting better or just hovering around consistently great fun to play. “Dishonored: Death of the Outsider is another solid adventure that's just as generous and involving as either of the main games. It's a shorter experience, but everything you love about the series is present and correct, and as always, replayability is extremely high. Billie is a great character and inherits some cool abilities that allow for multiple approaches to missions. Some narrative niggles let the game down a bit, and it feels a little rushed at the end, but all told, this is every inch a Dishonored game, which can only be a good thing.”
