“Kynseed is a fantastic RPG that could also be called a cosy game or farming/life sim, exceeding many in the genre to offer a truly unique experience that has impressive depth. In a bold statement, I have to say that I prefer Kynseed to Stardew Valley as it provides so many QOL features that never make the game a chore despite the many chores within. With a stellar cast of NPCs, endless activities and generations that extend the playthrough, 50 hours is not enough – I will be playing for generations to come.”

“Pro Jank Footy is a blast in short bursts, especially when competing with friends and family. The wild possibilities escalate as more goals are kicked, creating moments of pure anarchy dabbled with nostalgia for anyone familiar with the sport in its best era. The victory on the scoreboard is never really the focus, for if you keep your sanity through a high scoring match you’re doing something right. This is an easy recommendation for anyone that enjoys AFL. For those enamoured by the style and the crazy combinations, definitely give this game a crack. I’ve followed the sport for 38 years, yet the powerups ensured all I knew quickly went flying out of the closest window.”

“Farlands is an addictive farming/life sim that will not be foreign to those well versed in the genre. Its strength is the planet focus, allowing for expressive originality and creativity. The early days can be slow, but there is always something to do or explore across its planets. This is highly recommended for anyone seeking a cosy space adventure with a plot to call your own.”

“Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag is now my favourite Assassin’s Creed game of all time. I had played the original here and there in the past, but this remake from the ground up simply elevates the experience in all areas. While the many bloated aspects of a newer AC title remain, they never feel like a chore as the core gameplay is so solid and rewarding. Despite beating the game, I’ve returned to simply sail on the seas and listen to the shanties as a way to relax. Kudos to Ubisoft for Resyncing the right way.”

“The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is a solid starting point for the new IP, taking on the combat and exploration of early Zelda games while also pushing hard into the HD-2D visuals. The gameplay is refreshing for this type of presentation and the game moves at an excellent pace across its approximate 20 hours. While the story did not quite vibe with me, all other components definitely did as I felt connection to the likes of early Zelda games in design. I can’t wait to see if further adventures await”

“Marathon is high stakes, high risk and high reward. A competitive extraction shooter in every aspect of itself and can be the highest of highs or the lowest of lows. I have often described my time on Tau Ceti IV as very bipolar. When you’re on a good run it feels fantastic, but sooner or later you end up in the unemployed queue and a loss almost always leads to a string of them.”
