How this trust score was computed
Trust blends alignment (40%): does the outlet rank games the way players do; decoded accuracy (30%): after translating the outlet's own scale habits (a '7/10 means mediocre' scale is decoded, not punished), how well its reviews predict player sentiment; and player-side (30%): on games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, whose side it took. Recent reviews weigh more (2-year half-life), and the blend is shrunk toward a neutral prior (60) so small samples can't peg the scale. Player quality is launch-window Steam sentiment, so outlets aren't punished for reviewing a launch build that later got patched.
Controversy record: on 15 games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, this reviewer sided with players 9 times.

“Mortal Shell 2 is a great step forward from the original; one that takes extra brutality, a more scenic world, and magnificently designed enemies and puts them in the forefront. The world is full of life, and every inch of it is worth exploring - from the poisoned swamp to the snowy alcoves. The brutal gameplay, combined with a plethora of items to create a build makes this one of the best soulslike titles I have played. Unfortunately, it still has a little ways to go when it comes to the mechanical aspects, as glitchy bosses, a world you can and will fall through, and broken weapons make it difficult to fully love the title. If you can get past that, it is a game that is worth coming back to.”

“Agent 64: Spies Never Die likely won't win you over unless you have played and enjoyed the games that inspired it. If you don't have a history with GoldenEye 007 or Perfect Dark, I wouldn't recommend you try it because the art style and gameplay will feel foreign compared to any first-person shooter you've played since 2000. That said, if you do enjoy the outdated jank of those games, you'll get a not-as-good experience, but something you can play with friends and have a good enough time in. This game is banking on you having the nostalgia to enjoy this, and if you do, you'll likely be content with it, but maybe not fall in love.”

“Lifted brings together the joy of watching your favorite movie with a simple platformer, and I had a blast playing it. There were a lot of cutscenes that gave the enjoyment of watching a movie, so they didn’t distract from the gameplay. The gameplay itself was simple, but well done for the most part and made the journey enjoyable. While I do wish the game was a little bit longer, I have found that going back for the collectibles feels worth it. While the puzzles weren’t challenging, finding the collectibles can be, and earning the new outfits feels like an achievement. Overall, Lifted focuses on bringing joy to the player. Nothing’s so hard as to cause frustration, and the wackiness of the story kept me smiling for the whole playthrough. If you’re looking for a fun, enjoyable couple of hours, I’d suggest Lifted.”

“Moss: The Forgotten Relic does a great job taking the original titles and translating them into a more static, controller-based style, where you can look upon Quill and aid her in her journey. The story, while cute and reminiscent of a bedtime story you’d read by the fire, is short and doesn’t offer as much complexity as I would like. Still, hearing the narrator talk me through the game was a fun addition that I added to the overall experience. The gameplay is simple, but offers a deeper means of puzzle solving as you unlock new items and progress through both books of the story. It would have been nice to move the camera, as the static shots made navigating some of the puzzles a bit more of a hassle than necessary.”

“Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced brings back a classic from the series past, with all the necessary improvements needed for the modern day. With updated gameplay, more story and characters, as well as a stunning new take on the Caribbean, this remake is the absolute best way to experience this tale of assassins and pirates. A retread of a decade-plus-old game may not entice some, but it’s a masterful retelling sure to touch on many fans’ nostalgia and is the best suggestion for players to experience this story once more.”

“007 First Light is a very fun and enjoyable adventure that I believe anyone can enjoy. The action is top-notch, with great story beats and characters that draw you in from beginning to end. The shooting and combat aren’t amazing, but their adaptability still gives them value and makes them serviceable enough to sit alongside the stealth moments that have you picking off enemies one by one. IO Interactive went all out to prove that it is the right team to make a James Bond game these days, and I can only sit and eagerly await what comes next.”

“The Rugrats: Retro Rewind Collection is a decent enough way to play Search for Reptar in 2026 if you grew up playing it originally on the PlayStation. Beyond that, there isn’t much to really say that this is a must-buy. Maybe you can find some enjoyment in Studio Tour, but everything else here doesn’t hold up satisfyingly unless you consider yourself the most diehard of Rugrats fans, but even then, there isn’t much to celebrate here.”

“Tiny Bookshop is an interesting idea of a game, mixing a basic business manager with the cozy game aesthetic you enjoy passively with a cup of coffee. That’s all well and good, but that formula went stale long before its 15-plus hour runtime ended. It wasn’t a dreadful experience, as the game is more than charming enough to hold my attention, but it was an experience that took too long reaching its final page.”

“Mullet Madjack shows an expert understanding of old-school anime and doesn’t compromise on its message at any point. It’s quite clear that the developer harbors a deep love for the media that the game pays homage to, and its art style goes beyond just being a superficial aesthetic choice, firmly rooting itself into the game’s tone and everything that surrounds it.”

“Mouse: P.I. For Hire melds the cartoon world of a century ago with intense shooter action in a way that is endearing as hell. The gameplay’s combat feels great the entire time, and the cartoon world at play here stands toe-to-toe with classics of the past. It’s a love letter to its inspirations and is an easy recommendation for someone looking for non-stop action and charm. The lack of the ability to return to older missions to get missed side jobs and certain collectibles is highly aggravating, and you never really feel like a detective here, but if what you really enjoy is cartoons and shooter action, that is fully on display here.”

“Placing and stacking buildings, adding signs, and styling graffiti will soothe your woes and stress. ShantyTown is great for those who want a relaxing title to sit back and zen out to, but it doesn’t fully capture the creative experience for those who want more customization in their city-builder. The art style is serene, offering a peaceful environment for you to escape your everyday worries. If you enjoy building games but get decision fatigue, ShantyTown is the perfect game to pick up and mellow out to.”

“RACCOIN is the next rogue-like I didn’t imagine I’d want, or would even work, but developer Doraccoon has pulled the correct levers for what makes one of these games feel good. While it didn’t consume my every thought like other similar titles, there was more than enough coin pushing goodness to keep me at the cabinet for hours. With its hundreds of modifiers and power up’s, and handful of unique characters with special abilities, RACCOIN is the next dopamine hit game to get your paws onto.”

“WWE 2K26 is a solid improvement on a series already on the upswing. The changes to stamina make the moment-to-moment gameplay feel more real to life and add risk and reward to every match, and the plethora of options to see your dream matches play out are all solid to great, MyGM being a personal favorite. Ringside Pass changes the entire content unlocking system to a bit of a battle pass grind, but in terms of booking and living out the wrestling fantasy, WWE2K26 takes home the world title.”

“Simply put, Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon is well worth the price of admission. It’s an RPG that was crafted with care and pays homage to titles that came before it. The focus on quality over quantity is a gamble that paid off when talking about the total package, but came with a few nagging issues that bring it down a notch. The minimal effort shown toward the facial animations is a true crime against the voice actors who brought these expertly written characters to life. Pair that with the rather dated combat system, and it truly pains me to not set this game in a league of its own when talking about games I’ve played recently. Those are issues that are quickly overshadowed by just how fun this adventure is and how well core RPG tenets are executed upon. The story, world, and expansive lands this game takes place within are truly something that could give Bethesda a run for its money.”

“PlayEveryWare’s remaster shows a lot of respect for Defiance’s tone, improving upon its atmosphere with new lighting and textures, while also allowing players to freely pick and choose between its quality-of-life features. Touching up a classic is never easy, and while I do wish fewer corners were cut, especially when it comes to AI upscaling, I can’t deny that it does look great for the most part. It’s very clear that all of the remaster’s changes are well-intentioned and aim to modernize the game in optional ways, respecting those who prefer the original experience while also attempting to sand down some of its rougher edges.”
