“If you’re like me and appreciate well-crafted, thoughtful nostalgic set pieces in game form, 70s-style Robot Anime Geppy-X is sure to please you as it did me. It’s surely not as deep or as challenging as something like Gradius or Raiden, but it certainly succeeds at what it shoots for, emulating the frenzy around an animated property from decades ago. It’s a concept that would be fun to revisit if someone were to develop a new game in this spirit.”

Relative newcomers to retro-style shooters are likely to get more from it than the jaded veterans among us, who have seen every gameplay element done to a higher standard many times before. At its best though, Mouse P.I. For Hire is a stunning-looking playable cartoon – and while it could have been so much more, that is enough.”

“The extent to which Aether & Iron will be enjoyed is largely also the extent to which players are enamoured with visual novels. Much of the development effort here, and the overwhelming majority of player time, is spent on dialogue trees. For those who enjoy visual novels, and find that this “decopunk” setting chimes with them, there will be a lot to enjoy in Aether & Iron. Those looking for what it first appears to be – which is to say, a tactical RPG – are best advised to search elsewhere.”

“Surely, Marvel MaXimum Collection isn’t nearly as impressive of a collection as say, the one Konami themselves put out for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles a few years ago, or even Limited Run’s incredible retake on Jaws on NES. It could’ve included more Marvel games as X-Men can only last you so long. As it is, it’s a good one to have in your library, and if it’s any indication of what could be on their radar for future releases, there’s hope for even Springfield’s most beloved family to also get packaged up like this. One can only hope.”
