Despite offering multiple endings, the game tends to overlook the story's more complex nuances. While interactions with supporting characters are well-crafted and foster a genuine sense of attachment, the city itself remains static regardless of Shiro’s actions during the campaign—even after seemingly drastic events occur. Ultimately, what could have been a thought-provoking, philosophical exploration of life in a “perfect society”—and whether such a thing truly exists—risks feeling banal, as hardly anything seems to leave a lasting mark or trigger meaningful consequences, whether positive or negative.”

“Even with the modest additions for the new hardware, Citizen Sleeper – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is like comparing a chocolate popsicle to a scoop of chocolate ice cream: it is exactly the same product, just delivered differently. Citizen Sleeper remains a fantastic game, featuring well-crafted mechanics, charismatic characters, and an impeccable atmosphere.
