How this trust score was computed
Trust blends alignment (40%): does the outlet rank games the way players do; decoded accuracy (30%): after translating the outlet's own scale habits (a '7/10 means mediocre' scale is decoded, not punished), how well its reviews predict player sentiment; and player-side (30%): on games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, whose side it took. Recent reviews weigh more (2-year half-life), and the blend is shrunk toward a neutral prior (60) so small samples can't peg the scale. Player quality is launch-window Steam sentiment, so outlets aren't punished for reviewing a launch build that later got patched.
Controversy record: on 7 games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, this reviewer sided with players 0 times.

- 85Onimusha: Way of the SwordAug 31, 2026
“Onimusha: Way of the Sword is a very fun game packed with memorable combat, but the constant reuse of bosses takes a bit of the shine off it, with certain moments in the campaign where the game is simply stalling to make itself seem longer than it needs to be. Even so, it is easily one of the most enjoyable games I played in 2026. ”

“Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy delivers a focused linear adventure without trying to reinvent the genre. Its exploration, puzzles, combat, visuals, atmosphere, and story keep players engaged throughout the journey. While some puzzles can feel repetitive and the combat is fairly simple, the game remains a competent and enjoyable experience. Fans of A Plague Tale will especially appreciate the opportunity to learn more about Sophia and explore an untold part of her story.”

“Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection – Volume 2 finally frees Guns of the Patriots from the PlayStation 3, bringing with it several very welcome visual upgrades. The bonus games are a nice touch, though they aren't exactly the most substantial part of the package. If you are a fan of the series—or want to see how the story concludes—this is a release that belongs in your collection.”

“Overcoming the limitations of the first game, Mortal Shell 2 defied expectations to become one of the best Soulslikes of the year. The title stands out by expanding its "shell"-swapping mechanics into a connected open world, delivering highly polished combat, rewarding exploration, and excellent boss fights. Despite minor issues regarding resource balancing and environment variety, the game is extremely solid and a must-play for fans of the genre.”

“Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is an extremely technical, frenetic, and beginner-friendly fighting game, featuring a solid roster and variety of modes for player progression, along with great incentives to play online. If you are a fan of Arc System Works' work or are looking for a new fighting game to call your own, this is a great choice.”

“Beast of Reincarnation offers satisfying, methodical combat, but its repetitive exploration and performance issues hold it back. If the combat appeals to you, it's worth considering, though waiting for a few patches may be the better option. ”

“Splatoon Raiders transforms the franchise's formula into a PvE experience focused on combat, exploration, gear collection, and build crafting. With quick missions and a wide variety of weapons, gadgets, and customization options, the game offers a fun and addictive gameplay loop. Despite some repetitive objectives, it was a very pleasant surprise for me.”

“Rhythm Heaven Groove quickly won me over. The beginning requires some time to adjust and grasp the rhythm of each challenge, but as the minigames progress, the sense of improvement is incredibly rewarding. With an excellent variety of challenges, music, and highly entertaining multiplayer, the game serves as a great entry point for new players.”

“Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced remains an excellent game, just like its predecessor was. Honestly, I can't say whether it's an unnecessary remake, because it definitely improves some aspects of the original, but makes others worse, such as the resource grind required to upgrade the Jackdaw. In the end, it's always great to replay a good game, especially in a newer and better-looking version, so yes, Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced is worth it.”

“Star Fox is a competent and beautiful remake of an absolute classic, with expanded dialogue and a cinematic presentation that impresses from start to finish. The problem is that its short runtime combined with a route system that forces you to restart from scratch every playthrough ends up making exploration more tedious than fun. It's a great pick for anyone who never played the original and wants to experience Fox McCloud's story, but those expecting something more substantial may come away feeling like it needed a little more.”

“EA Sports UFC 6 doesn't reinvent the wheel, and makes some unnecessary changes by slowing down the fight at key moments and making ground fighting more complicated than it should be. Furthermore, the absence of legendary UFC fighters like Anderson Silva is noticeable. If your idea is to buy the game to play with current legends like Poatan, the game is certainly worthwhile, but there are some areas where the game falls short.”

“Devil May Cry 5 is one of the best games in the franchise, and the Switch 2 port is solid. There are a few stumbles in docked mode—with noticeable aliasing—but the game itself is fantastic and visually beautiful on the Switch 2.”

“The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is a game that grows tremendously as you progress through its story and challenges, finishing at its very best — delivering one of the best narratives of the year. Although it stumbles with a confusing navigation map and occasionally fails to clearly communicate what it wants you to do, if you give it a chance, you'll find an excellent game here.”

“Mina the Hollower is a challenging game with memorable bosses and enemies, numerous secrets, and several interesting systems. The difficulty can be a bit unbalanced at times, but this doesn't detract from the excellent work that Yacht Club Games has delivered.”

“007: First Light is not just a great James Bond franchise game — it is one of the best products in the franchise's history and one of the best games of 2026. The game is fun from start to finish, with a great story, extremely charismatic characters, and action and stealth in just the right measure. Highly recommended.”
