How this trust score was computed
Trust blends alignment (40%): does the outlet rank games the way players do; decoded accuracy (30%): after translating the outlet's own scale habits (a '7/10 means mediocre' scale is decoded, not punished), how well its reviews predict player sentiment; and player-side (30%): on games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, whose side it took. Recent reviews weigh more (2-year half-life), and the blend is shrunk toward a neutral prior (60) so small samples can't peg the scale. Player quality is launch-window Steam sentiment, so outlets aren't punished for reviewing a launch build that later got patched.
Controversy record: on 16 games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, this reviewer sided with players 2 times.

Outlet vs. players
Each dot is a game both this outlet and players scored. The dashed line is perfect agreement: dots above it mean the outlet was more generous than players, below it more harsh.

“With the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 campaign, Activision is testing the limits of how "cheap" it can get, while asking players for €79.99. The experiment unfortunately fails, resulting in the worst Call of Duty in years, which suffers on almost all fronts. From the extremely short duration, to the nerveless set-pieces, the copy-pasted environments that are simply altered parts of Warzone's maps, the poorly written script and the abrupt finale, these are just a few of the problems of this year's CoD. The situation is somewhat saved by the robust and tried and tested gunplay, some pleasant flashes, as well as quality graphics. But these are not enough to bring... in the spring. Unless you're big fans and well prepared for what's ahead, you'd better keep your money and invest your time elsewhere.”

“Forza Motorsport is coming back a bit lazily and not as grandly as one might expect after six years. It's still an excellent and all-around improved chapter, but it shows some signs of stagnation, such as the lifeless Career and the not-so-"revolutionary" visuals that Turn 10 promised during the title's marketing campaign. In conclusion and in very simple words, those of you who have played Forza Motorsport 7 know more or less what to expect. One thing's for sure, if you love Forza Motorsport, you'll love this too.”

“In an era with many good Spider-Man stories, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 not only does not seem superfluous, but also deservedly earns its place in the modern mythology of the hero.”

“Assassin's Creed Mirage left me finally satisfied and I am glad that in 2023 there is again a chapter in the series with such a more old-school direction. I wouldn't say it's a complete return to the roots, since there are still remnants of the RPG era, with the parkour system being my biggest complaint. while the "now" of history is again absent. However, I think this is a game that fans will particularly enjoy, and I easily recommend investing their time in. It has one of the best cities we've ever seen in the entire Assassin's Creed series, a real achievement, with awesome level design and a lot to teach. Literally, it has a well-crafted stealth system with many tools for each scenario, and its scale is finally at normal and manageable levels, without you ever feeling like it doesn't respect your time.”

“Lies of P is without a doubt a release that shouldn't go unnoticed by fans of Soulslike games. It's one of the best games of the genre and is definitely worth your attention if you love FromSoftware's games, such as Bloodborne for example. The game has a solid gameplay that is quite addictive and offers new ideas, such as the mechanical hand of "P" that offers different tools. Give it a chance and it will surely take you to a strange, dark and yet beautiful world. And remember, the lies are over!”

“The Crew Motorfest is a well-crafted open world racing game, set in a beautiful location and packed with content, with a varied and impeccably paced campaign or a series of mini-campaigns. It's Ubisoft's attempt to make its own Forza Horizon, as it follows the formula almost to the letter, and largely succeeds. Sure, there are flaws, and in the attempt to include everything that can be driven, from boats, planes, Formula 1 cars, motorbikes to -of-course- cars, depth has been sacrificed. Either way, anyone who invests their time will certainly not regret it, as this is ultimately a highly entertaining game!”

“The bottom line about Mortal Kombat 1 is that it has a flowing story that's enjoyable in its own cinematic way. The spectacle takes off thanks to an incredible and flawless technical field, with graphics that are a joy to behold, but also a robust, tried and tested and updated gameplay. It breaks down in the "what to do after the story" section, Because if you're not competitive and experienced enough for the online part, it's hard to keep you going for long. There is always of course the traditional couch co-op where with friends fun is guaranteed. Mortal Kombat 1 may be the second reboot in the series, but it manages to renew rather than reinvent itself, without risking losing its bloody, super violent and fun fighting nature!”

“Starfield is a grandiose, overambitious game that doesn't win you over quickly, but when it does, it does so in a bombastic way. It is a huge journey, full of experiences, full of stories, against the backdrop of vast space and the common denominator of man, his beliefs, his ideals and his passionate need to know what is out there. Defects, The shortcomings and complaints are outweighed by the rest of the total, since at the end of the day, you crave the time to open your console, your PC and discover a little more of this universe. Give it your time, take off company labels, ignore marketing and silly console wars. Starfield is a great game not to be missed.”

“FromSoftware returns after the very successful Elden Ring to familiar waters, but quite unfamiliar to many people who got to know it through Dark Souls. Its legendary franchise that was launched in 1997 on the PlayStation comes to the present day fully updated, with new ideas and gameplay that series fans will love. The game is definitely not for everyone due to its difficulty and setting, but it definitely appeals to those who want to play something different from the company, which once again does not disappoint, especially when it comes to gameplay mechanics, mechs and epic boss battles.”

“Final Fantasy XVI is, in my opinion, an uneven title, with both its strengths and weaknesses. Its excellent combat system, its gorgeous, diverse world and the outrageous epic-scale spectacle it offers are undermined by a confusing style and a narrative that doesn't live up to the very nice introduction. Even so, the thrills it delivers are a given and its journey, despite its ups and downs, is full of memorable images, battles and set pieces. Another diverse and worthwhile chapter in the series' long history.”

“Diablo IV is one of the best games for the summer and definitely the most addictive RPG I've played in recent years. Blizzard's classic formula returns with many new touches that make gameplay addictive and keep the player in front of their screen for hours. The title is really huge, It has too much content that will make the money you gave or give away. I think it's one of the best chapters in the franchise and it's up there with Diablo II. Co-op and cross-platform are a great addition, and if you were looking for a title to play with your friends this summer, I highly recommend it. I also recommend it to those who want to know for the first time what Diablo is.”

“Street Fighter 6 is an extremely rich package that successfully manages to win over new players thanks to its new and sophisticated control system, while also winking at veterans, with its balanced, strategic and deep gameplay. It includes everything Street Fighter 5 did, while the development team has added an entire Street Fighter open world RPG and an online MMO on top of it. So, just like that, Capcom's positive...combo continues!”

“Dead Island 2 is one of the pleasant gaming surprises of 2023, although you'd expect it to come out full of problems and with a confused identity after ten years of delays. The end result couldn't have been further from those fears. The experience is technically flawless with no problems, gorgeous graphics and consistent performance, and most importantly: highly, highly entertaining and satisfying gameplay!”

“Atomic Heart is not the Soviet BioShock, as many are quick to label it, because to "be" BioShock, you need to do everything as well as Irrational Games' masterpiece did. However, it's a game that very much wants to be like BioShock and indeed in many parts it draws clear influences from the creation of Kevin Levine. So, those of you who like this kind of "thinking FPS", with strange content and setting that your eye is not used to, you may find something very interesting in Atomic Heart, which is already leaving its touch in the industry for many pleasant and also for many not so pleasant reasons.”
