How this trust score was computed
Trust blends alignment (40%): does the outlet rank games the way players do; decoded accuracy (30%): after translating the outlet's own scale habits (a '7/10 means mediocre' scale is decoded, not punished), how well its reviews predict player sentiment; and player-side (30%): on games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, whose side it took. Recent reviews weigh more (2-year half-life), and the blend is shrunk toward a neutral prior (60) so small samples can't peg the scale. Player quality is launch-window Steam sentiment, so outlets aren't punished for reviewing a launch build that later got patched.
Controversy record: on 31 games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, this reviewer sided with players 13 times.

- 90The Sinking City 2Aug 18, 2026 · Anthony Culinas
“The Sinking City 2 is a huge improvement over its predecessor. It trades much of its detective-focused identity for a tense and atmospheric survival-horror experience that wears its Resident Evil, Silent Hill and Dead Space influences proudly. While the story ultimately fails to leave much of an impression, the excellent combat, clever exploration and suitably creepy rendition of Arkham make this one hell of a good time. Frogwares may have sacrificed some of the original’s unique personality, but in return they’ve created a much better survival-horror game. And honestly, who can argue with that?”

“Faithfully modernising one of gaming's genre-defining shooters with smart QOL upgrades, stunning Unreal Engine 5 visuals and strong new content, Halo: Campaign Evolved is the definitive way to replay the original. The lack of competitive multiplayer is a huge missed opportunity, but it barely dents what is otherwise a no-brainer pickup.”

“A ridiculously slick and addictive score-chaser, Denshattack! occasionally derails with unfair difficulty spikes and fiddly mechanics, but its incredible presentation and satisfying gameplay make it well worth the ride.”

“Modernising one of Ubisoft’s best adventures, Black Flag Resynced features gorgeous visuals, refined combat and smart quality-of-life improvements, even if the familiar AC jank remains.”

“The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is a charming fantasy adventure that combines beautiful world design, solid combat, and engaging exploration into a package that's easy to recommend.”

“A faithful and atmospheric RPG with excellent world-building and replayability, held back by repetitive quest design, underwhelming combat and a few frustrating technical hiccups.”

“Forza Horizon 6 doesn’t hit the same turbocharged highs as its Mexico-set predecessor, trading some of the series’ wacky arcade chaos for a more grounded spin through Japan. Though when it lets loose with drift events, Horizon Rush and a soundtrack packed with EDM, J-pop and anime bangers, it genuinely rips.”

“Being a rather odd sci-fi shooter, Pragmata thrives on its inventive tag-team combat, where hacking and gunplay collide in fast, chaotic and genuinely satisfying ways. While clunky backtracking, low difficulty and a predictable story hold it back, its unique mechanics and stylish action still make it well worth experiencing.”

“Screamer is a chaotic arcade racer that excels in high-speed, risk-reward gameplay thanks to its unique Sync/Entropy systems, 4-player split screen and addictive moment-to-moment action. While its main Tournament mode and anime-inspired story add a solid amount of flair, it can feel inconsistent and repetitive at times.”

“Resident Evil Requiem kicks off as a near-perfect slice of modern survival horror, but can’t sustain that brilliance across its full campaign.”

“When it leans into its bleak themes, killer soundtrack and strategic row-based battles, you can’t help but want to keep playing Octopath Traveler Zero. Its tighter, more cohesive story and genuinely dark subject matter also give this prequel real weight. Though a bloated cast, pacing issues and recycled mobile-game busywork mar the experience from achieving glory. Zero strikes like a freight truck when it swings, yet it also insists on making you wade through fetch questy errands to get to the good stuff. Not exactly riveting entertainment.”

“She’s Leaving boasts a bold forensic-horror premise and some brilliantly tense atmosphere, but its clunky mechanics, rushed story and uneven pacing hold it back from greatness. There are flashes of something special here, yet the experience ultimately feels more janky than genuinely gripping.”

“When you’re hurtling through Skate Story’s fast-paced courses, it feels incredible; smooth, stylish and almost transcendent. But the moment the game asks you to slow down, explore or solely rely on its trick system, the cracks start to show. Bosses aren’t memorable, hub areas drag and the skating just isn’t intuitive or expressive enough to stick the landing. There’s definitely magic here, though it’s wrapped around mechanics that never fully shine. A vibe showcase first, a skate game second.”

“After taking a few steps back with The Cosmic Shake, Titans of the Tide delivers a buoyant dose of nostalgia with a ghoulishly ghost-tinted spin.”

“The Outer Worlds 2 is a good game, sometimes even a great one. However, it plays things a little too cautiously for a sequel that once promised to push boundaries. It’s pretty polished, funny and loaded with charm, yet still feels content to orbit familiar territory rather than charting something truly spectacular. A solid recipe for disappointing your fans.”
